Academically, this semester hasn't been that great, but I'm finally back for a month or so! Hopefully since I'm taking an art course next semester I'll be able to maintain my activity on deviantArt, but I'll also be taking Chem 1A, so...

Hey everyone! I've been busy drowning under schoolwork (still haven't adapted to 1st year of university ) but I'm slowly coming along with commissions.


My poli sci class has a really interested extra-credit opportunity and I was hoping some of you would be interested in helping me out!

Goal: "to help poor urban residents in Rio have a say in whether or not their neighborhoods get demolished in preparation for the 2016 Olympic Games. Right now, these communities are completely left out of the planning and decision-making process. But CommCat, a Brazilian NGO, has an innovative plan to train 200 community organizers from the slums, or “favelas,” in online networking tools (such as Twitter, Facebook and WiserEarth) to ensure that their voices are heard by local authorities. In addition, the general public can "hear" what leaders from the favelas have to say, support them, and follow their work. If this project—“Ensuring a Powerful Legacy for Rio’s Favelas”—wins this online contest from IdeaBlob, they get $10,000 and will be able to put this plan into action."
